Goodbye and goodnight Miss Honeybee

             --- to March 30 2014.

This afternoon, while I was at Rozelle, I got a message that said Honeybee passed away this morning. I was and still am, devastated. I never got to spend as much time with her as I wanted to but I hope that during the brief time that I was with her, she was happy.

I remember Miss HB back in 2011 as a stray loitering around our small street at mums. Then she gave birth to a litter, there were three that survived then after that only two remained, Gherkin and Morty. They lived just outside our walls, at the blank lot beside ours. We took them in after awhile and since than had become part of the family. Honeybee always remained outside though, I think she preferred to spend her days hunting and sunning herself under the sun, coming back home at night time for dinner.

One time a neighbour tried to claim her. She went with them then escaped a few nights after. Coming back to our house with a hole in her stomach. I did my best to stitch her back up and miraculously she survived. And now, apparently a neighbor saw her with a frog and went really sick afterwards during her last foray. Mum got a phone call from the neighbor asking us of that was our cat. Honeybee was missing for a day already so she said yes. She died shortly after. All I could say is that at least she came home. And she will forever be home. Palmwoods was and is her home. She chose us to be her family and family she is. Thank you for everything dear honeybee. I will ore we love you. Xoxox
